Global Warming is really not a political issue, it is disguised as a political issue. It is a moral issue, it is an ethical issue. If we allow this to happen, we will destroy the habitability of the planet. We can't do that, and I am confident we won't do that.
- Al Gore

The scientific community has reached a consensus that global warming is real and that human activities are causing the warming trend. Global temperatures have steadily risen over the last century, with 4 of the 5 warmest years occurring in the past 5 years.

Life-Link Variant probe pole Life-Link Variant probe pole

The adjustable length Variant ski pole / avalanche probe is designed to meet all the demands of backcountry touring, downhill skiing, snowshoeing and winter mountaineering. The smooth, easy to operate screw cone mounted in the lower shaft allows the Variant to be easily adjusted from 42" to 58", for the ideal height adjustment to match the terrain. The screw cone is made of tough, lightweight Delrin R, that will not corrode while providing positive locking at the desired height. If you've got a long angled traverse, just lengthen your downhill pole! The Variants lock in place and will not slip! If you're a snowshoer in the Midwest, the Life Link Variant is a good call. If you're a backcountry skier or snowshoer who plays in avalanche terrain, its probe capabilities are essential. The Variant's locking mechanism utilizes screw cones to quickly join two lowers with one upper forming a 6'11" probe. Check with the ski patrollers in the Wasatch mountains of Utah. Many use the Life-Link Variant. Length: One Size. Adjust range: 42-58" inches. Probe Size: 6'11".

Life-Link Alpine Extreme Composite probe poles Life-Link Alpine Extreme Composite probe poles

The Alpine Extreme Composite incorporates the latest generation composite materials in a continuous diameter shaft. The revolutionary Quick Cam grip, along with Life-Link's probe fittings create the finest composite ski pole / probe on the market (whoa!). Perfect for alpine skiers, heli-skiers, tele skiers, and backcountry enthusiasts. The shaft / grip design allows you up to 2 inches of overall height adjustment without tools. The AEC's uniform diameter carbon graphite shaft offers high strength, light weight, and optimum flex. The two pole shafts can be quickly joined together via machined screw fittings. This thin uniform diameter shaft is a more effective avalanche probe than any ski pole / probe available. The pole tips are tapered steel in a four point configuration for optimum grip even on the hardest snow conditions. Quick release ferrules allow the baskets to be easily removed and interchanged (the AEC comes with two pairs of baskets: a 3.5" snowflake basket for soft snow conditions and a 2.5 inch disc basket for hard pack or racing). These composite ski / probe poles are light weight and well balanced. The grip fits naturally and comfortably in your palm and a flick of the wrist gives you a pole plant. You can't help but rip it with these babies. Lengths 44" 46" 48" 50" 52" 54" Adjust range 43-45 45-47 47-49 49-51 51-53 53-55 Probe Size 6'11" 7'3 7'7" 7'11" 8'3" 8'7"

I tell you one thing I'm not going to do is I'm not going to let the United States carry the burden for cleaning up the world's air.
- George W. Bush, 2000

...if you think about it, if we're smart and have got a strategic vision and a leader who understands strategic planning, to make sure that we change the terms of the battlefield of the future so we can keep the peace. This is a peaceful nation, and I intend to keep the peace. Spending money is one thing. But spending money without a strategic plan can oftentimes be wasted.
- George W. Bush, 2000
Did you know?
Big oil companies have been funding junk science and biased research designed to confuse and misinform the public by creating uncertainties about the realities of global warming.

ExxonMobil, an oil giant that generates its huge profits from the fossil fuels that contribute to global warming, gave $15,000,000 (15 million dollars) to organizations designed to challenge science's conclusions on global warming.

George W. Bush consistently misleads the public on environment issues. One of his administration's first actions was to withdraw the United States from Kyoto, a global effort to reduce climate change. In 2002, his republican administration released the ridiculously titled "Clean Skies" initiative, which weakened the Clean Air Act and was in effect a license for companies pollute more. That same year, his administration introduced the "Healthy Forest Initiative", which was basically a giveaway of our national forests to the logging industry. His administration has continued to introduce legislation that weakens protection of natural areas and national parks, and has even gone as far as nominating officials with ties to polluters to head the EPA!
