Breaking news! The nation’s first ever state-wide vote on renewable energy will take place in Colorado this November. The exciting new initiative would require Colorado’s major power companies to get 10% of their power from renewable sources by 2015.

This is an incredible opportunity to make a difference for Colorado and to set an important precedent for the rest of the country.

Unfortunately, one of CO’s biggest power companies, Xcel Energy has come out against the initiative since it would force them to change the way they do business.

Don’t let Xcel stand between Colorado and cleaner, safer, cheaper energy like solar and wind power! Support renewable energy by signing a petition asking Xcel to withdraw its opposition of this excellent initiative.

Click here to sign the petition: http://pirg.org/alerts/route.asp?id=796

This initiative is based on sound energy policy and good sense - it will reduce Colorado’s reliance on expensive, dirty fossil fuels like gas and coal while improving air quality, protecting our environment, and helping to conserve our precious natural resources.

Please spread the word and ask your friends and family to sign the petition, too.

Thanks for your help!

Marcus
