My brother ran across this principle in a book at a library in St. Louis. The book has since disappeared, and I would like to know where I can get more information. I have searched the internet with no luck. In the aforementioned book, the hydraulic ram principle was used to pump water through a pipe from a pond to a water tank far, far uphill without the use of an outside energy source, except initially to get it started. It involved the use of a valve, a spring to close the valve, and was powered by the water pressure in the pond. The water rushing into the pipe forced spurts of water up the pipe as the valve opened and closed.
If anyone has any specifics regarding the implementation of this principle or knows where I can find them, please let me know.
Thank you, Deblee

i've built a ram 4 my h2o system. check out Rife p.o.box 95, nanticoke, Pa 18634 :570-740-1100. they make rams and have a lot of info. it is a very old technology, and has been replace by the electric pump. rams are energy input (extermal) free but do need periodic attention.
