I think if you step back and look at the big picture, photovoltaics lose a lot of their appeal. Enormous amounts of water, energy, and toxic chemicals go into their production. Without solar tracking, they will not reach maximum efficiency throughout the day. Recycling is also problematic.
This is why I think Solar Turbines are the way to go.
