For any of you interested in avoiding genetically engineered food, you may find the NEW Greenpeace True Food Guide helpful. You can find it online at: http://www.truefoodnow.org The original True Food Shopping List contains over 2,000 food products, including many dairy and meat alternatives as well as cereal, snacks and heat and serve meals.
The new True Food Guide builds on Greenpeace’s True Food Shopping List by detailing the status of many fruits, vegetables, dry goods, and nuts and seeds. Genetically engineered varieties of most of the foods discussed in the Guide are not yet on the market, but many are undergoing field trials, such as apples, oranges, grapefruit, melons, rice, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers and even coffee. The Guide also shows consumers how they can take action to keep their favorite foods GE-free.
