I am not a vegetarian, but I do know that having several meatless meals per week, and reducing the amount of meat in the other meals is good for the environment as well as my health. I also stay away from fast food. I really don't think McD or whatever hamburgers are worth destroying rainforests for. Foods like lentils and beans might not taste great alone, but I have made some wonderful dishes using these and other non-meat proteins. My husband loves my cooking! So it's not about deprivation.
