Particle size is the limiter to decomposition
,the smaller the size of the crop residue and
everything organic you can find including
the excellent Human manure,,shredders can be
human powered,,a composter should be made of
fencing,kept moist,not wet,turned once a week
,carbon and nitrogen should be balanced on
the side of carbon,,straw,leaves,stalks,husks
,and animal manures,,and Green manures grown
to be composted, like pea and bean plant stalk

Composting is amazingly easy: throw stuff that rots together in a big pile. That's the slow way, however. The advice from diogenes is excellent.

Do you have to turn the compost occasionally or does this just slow things down? I started composting probably 99% of wet waste and such but it doesn't seem to be breaking down quickly enough.. Should i not be turning it?

The ideal composter is shaped like a giand dryer drum, or Bingo ball tumbler. It can be trash-can sized or big enough for humans to run around in. A door gives access to throw in the oranic detritis (carinivore manure is a NO-NO!) and then tumbled every few days.

Th bacteria can generate enough heat and gasses to kill themselves, and an unhealthy decomposition sets in if it is too wet or unmoved.
