We need help in Atlanta. There is the largest brownfield development in the country. The EPA seems to be in the pocket of the developer. There was a federal restraining order prohibiting the developer from cutting down a grove of trees. The developer went to the city government and they told them to go ahead and cut down the trees. This was in violation of the federal order. The trees were cut down dispite the order and oposition by neighbors. What really is dangerous is the contamination that might be on the site. This was a old steel mill that was in full production for close to a hundred years. The epa waived vchecks and balances by declaring this a XL project. I wonder how much that cost? See a recent article in Creative Loafing http://atlanta.creativeloafing.com/news_feature2.html Also go to http://peachlaw.com and click on the skull and crossbones for a list of the chemicals. This list is very sobering!!! they also plan on placing a huge aquarium at this site. Jacoby Dev. also funds Aquathought and ecoplex. Do web searches on these for some laughter. They evicted the town of marineland to end up buying for a song the old marine land in florida. Please help us in Atlanta We need assistance to deal with this heartless and ruthless developer. The vp at jacoby who is managing this project is called Hildebrant Hillstad and he can be emailed at hillestad@jacobydevelopment.com Let's let him know how concerned we are by their clear cutting and lack of accountability.
