I'm promoting a concept I call HISEAS. If implemented, America would become completely independent of fossil fuels in about 10 to 20 years.
HISEAS stands forr Hydrogen Integrated SeAcoast Energy System, although large freshwater lakes could be used for HISEAS units as well. Basically it involves installing towers just off the coast. At the bottom of the tower you have a Blue Energy turbine, on the waves a McCabe wave energy converter, and on top of that an enclosed wind turbogenerator. Latitude permitting, an enclosed solar turbogenerator may also be added. Each unit will generate drinkable water, hydrogen, and electricity.
