Dear Friends, The whole-world is going towards the culture of Super-markets and other such places for consumer goods to be delivered to people. In such places a huge number of packing items, polyethylene bags are transferred to consumers. For instance oil-cans for edible oils, packets for various food-grains, soft-drink bottles etc. Ofcourse we are getting used to and addicted to this culture with the view the materials are in proper form with the assumption that the packing materials are recycled. But it is not so or even if so not to better method. So I suggest that we should make the purchases in bulk as much as possible keepling in mind the perishable nature of the products. For instance instead of buying one-1 kg pkt of rice each per week we can buy one- 5 kg pkt per month and the similarly in the case of oil. In the case of vegitables such as Potatos and onions, planned bulk purchase is preferred since they are not perishable and it would reduce the use of more number of polyethylene bags. Moreover bulk-purchase saves money. Thank you ganesh
