Can technology be used to continually increase the amount of food and other resources needed to support the world's growing population or is there some limit that will force a social response to the problems. Is food production a technological problem or a social problem? tell me what you guys think.

Yes we can produce the Amino acids, vitamins and minerals and probably most of the other components of food, everything the body needs from cellulose and dead people, and we can medicate everyone till they don't mind the overstimulation of endless crowds.we can,but of course, there would be no Nature as we know it and all Biomass would be Human biomass.. But we would be much better off limiting our numbers and keeping some of the Beauty...

But of course, the biotech people like monsant o are making seeds of soybeans that need more pesticides because monsanto makes pesticides and they are not making food more nutritious but less nourishing, not more productive but less productive..Organic Integrated cropping produces more food of better nutritional quality and it can be done on small plots not huge acreage,,and the soil stays fertile for the future not poisoned from chemicals..

Another point i would like to make is that Humans are supporting other animal species, in fact there are more chickens, pigs, cows, etc , than there are humans and the food that these animals eat and the water they drink is more than all of the humans combined,i like animals, but producing all of that food for animals is far worse than inefficient,it is criminal while some humans starve, especially when we now know that meat is unnecessary..

There are many ecologically and socialy viable solutions to overcrowding and overpopulation- google for Soleri, Arcology, biomorphic biosphere megastructure, and Glen Small. Those are just the two I am aware of.
But until the price of American gasoline hits $2 a gallon, stays there, and does not go back down, we're pretty well scr-- I mean stuck.
